At 3:30 p.m. NDT today Hurricane Gert 974 mb located at 38.2N 64.0W.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Thursday Hurricane Gert 980 mb located at 43.2N

At 3:30 p.m. NDT today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over eastern Funk Island Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight departing ridge located east of Funk
Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:14 PM NDT 16 August 2017 As of 3:30 P.M. NDT hurricane Gert is located at latitude 38.2 north
longitude 64.0 west, or 387 nautical miles south of Halifax. Gert is
moving east-northeastward at 25 knots with a central pressure of 974

Gert is forecast to track just south of the Southern Grand Banks on
Thursday as a transitioning post-tropical system. A brief period of
gale to storm force northeasterlies is forecast to spread over the
southernmost waters ahead of Gert, and then shift to strong to gale
force northwesterlies in its wake. Gert also has the potential to
bring high swells to southeastern coastal Newfoundland.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
the Southeastern Grand Banks - southern half. A gale warning is in
effect for the Southwestern Grand Banks - southern half.
