At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 976 mb located south of the Grand
By 8:00 p.m. NST Saturday departing low 970 mb located east of
the Grand Banks.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:46 PM NST 20 January 2017 An intensifying low pressure system just south of the Grand Banks
will continue along the southeast edge of the marine district tonight
and Saturday. Gale to storm force northeasterlies will spread over
eastern waters ahead of the low tonight and shift to gale to storm
force northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south and the Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Strait of
Belle Isle, Gulf waters, and Northeast Coast - north of Cape St.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle and Northeast Coast.
