Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:45 AM NST 22 January 2017 An intense low pressure system east of the Funk Island Bank will
track slowly northeastwards to lie south of Greenland by Monday.
Over eastern waters, gale to near storm force northwesterlies will
diminish to strong to gale force northwesterlies this morning in its
wake. These strong to gale force winds will persist over northern
waters into Monday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Strait of Belle Isle, East Coast, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank,
Funk Island Bank, Northern Grand Banks, and Southeastern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast - north of
Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island
