Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:48 PM ADT 21 September 2017 Strong to gale force easterlies will continue to affect southwestern
waters tonight as tropical storm Jose remains southwest of Georges
Bank. Winds will diminish slightly on Friday as Jose slowly weakens
and drifts away from the district. Marine interests are advised that
gale warnings are in effect for Browns Bank, Georges Bank, LaHave
Bank and West Scotian Slope.
As of 8:00 PM ADT tropical storm Jose was located near 39.6 north
And 68.1 west, or about 135 nautical miles southeast of Cape Cod.
Minimum central pressure is 989 MB and maximum sustained winds are 45
knots. Jose is currently drifting westward at 2 knots.
Long period swells from Jose will continue to affect the Atlantic
coastline of Nova Scotia and the Fundy coastline of New Brunswick.
These should very slowly diminish on Friday.
