At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing ridge located over Funk Island
Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:51 PM NST 8 December 2016 A low pressure system will approach from the southwest as it
intensifies tonight, tracking over the Eastern Avalon Peninsula early
Friday morning. The low will then track northeastward across Funk
Island Bank on Friday. Gale to storm force southeasterlies are
expected ahead of the low while gale to storm force southwest to
westerlies are expected in its wake over eastern waters.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in
effect for South Coast, East Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and the Southern
Atlantic - Maritimes Area
