Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:54 AM NST 29 January 2015 A trough of low pressure over Newfoundland will continue to move
northeastwards to exit the marine district by later today. Moderate
to strong northwesterlies develop over northern waters in its wake.
A second low pressure system south of the marine district today will
move northward towards the Avalon Peninsula tonight. Strong to gale
force northeasterlies will develop north of this low tonight over the
Grand Banks and spread northwards through the eastern marine district
on Friday. Strong southerly winds develop south of this low Friday
before shifting to strong westerlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale a warning is in effect for the
Funk Island Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters and Belle Isle Bank.
