Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 8:00 PM NDT 29 September 2016 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight deepening low 1014 mb located over the
southwestern Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Friday low 997 mb located east of the Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Friday quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the Maritimes.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 12:36 AM NDT 30 September 2016 A low pressure system currently located over the Southwestern Grand
Banks will deepen as it tracks northeastward overnight to lie east of
the marine district by Friday morning. Strong to gale force
southeasterlies ahead of the low will shift to gale to storm force
northerlies in its wake. Winds will diminish through the day on
Friday as the low moves away from the district.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
the Northern Grand Banks - western half. Gale warnings are in effect
for the East Coast, Funk Island Bank - southern half, Northern Grand
Banks - eastern half and the Southern Grand Banks.
