Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM NST 10 February 2016 Today Tonight and Thursday At 3:00 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary trough located from the
Gulf of St. Lawrence to Funk Island Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 981 mb located south of Newfoundland.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing low 973 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:49 AM NST 10 February 2016 A trough of low pressure will remain relatively stationary from the
gulf of the St. Lawrence to Funk Island Bank today. Ahead of this
feature, gale force northeasterlies will diminish later today.

Meanwhile, a low pressure system south of Newfoundland will cross the
Avalon Peninsula this morning to lie over Funk Island Bank this
afternoon. Gale to storm force south to southwesterlies are forecast
to develop to the southeast of the low with gale force westerlies in
its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and the Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, Northeast Coast -
north of Cape St. John and the Belle Isle Bank.
