Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:50 AM NST 25 January 2015 An intense low pressure system over gulf Port-au-Port will continue
tracking northeastwards crossing Southeastern Labrador this
afternoon. Storm force southerly winds ahead of this low will shift
to gale to storm force southwesterlies in its wake. Winds will
diminish to strong to gale force overnight tonight into Monday
morning.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
all waters, and a high water level warning is in effect for the
Strait of Belle Isle and the Gulf - Port au Port.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, Gulf - Port au

Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.

Higher than normal water levels and rough pounding surf are expected

increase further if the storm track changes. The public is advised to
monitor future forecasts and warnings, as warnings may be issued as
further information becomes available.
