Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:53 PM NST 21 January 2017 An intense low pressure system over the Eastern Grand Banks will
continue tracking northwards tonight. Over eastern waters, gale to
storm force northeasterlies ahead of the low will shift to gale to
storm force northwesterlies in its wake. Winds will diminish to
strong to gale force northwesterlies throughout the day on Sunday.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank, Northern Grand Banks and Southeastern Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except the Gulf
waters and Southwest Coast.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Coast and Belle Isle Bank.
