Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:55 AM NST 17 January 2017 A low pressure over the Western Strait of Belle Isle will track
across Northern Newfoundland early this morning then across the
Northeast Coast of Newfoundland later today before moving
southeastward across the Grand Banks overnight. Strong to gale force
south to southwesterlies ahead of the low will shift to strong to
gale force north to northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, Northeast Coast and Belle Isle
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Southwest Coast,
South Coast, and Northeast Coast.
