Issued 8:00 PM NDT 17 August 2017 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight trough located on a line
northwest-southeast over the East Coast of Newfoundland.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Friday low 999 mb located over southwestern Funk
Island Bank.

At 9:30 p.m. NDT tonight departing Post-tropical Storm Gert 982
mb located at 46.6N 43.2W.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:56 PM NDT 17 August 2017 A low pressure system will strengthen off the Northeast Coast of
Newfoundland tonight then slowly pull away to the east on Friday.
Strong to gale force winds can be expected around this low overnight
and Friday.

At 9:30 P.M. NDT post-tropical storm Gert is forecast to be near
latitude 46.6 north and longitude 43.2 west and is accelerating away
from the region. Gert is no longer forecast to have any direct impact
on the marine district.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
South Coast, East Coast, Northeast Coast, Funk Island Bank - northern
half, and the Southern Grand Banks.
