Issued 3:25 PM ADT 29 August 2016 An intensifying low pressure system north of Anticosti Island will

shifting to strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau, Cabot Strait, Gulf Magdalen, and Anticosti.

As of 3:00 PM ADT, hurricane Gaston is located near 31.0 degrees

The depression could become a tropical storm tonight. There is
uncertainty about the development of the storm, and whether it will
have any effect on Canadian waters. There are some indications it may
dissipate before reaching our waters.
