Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:58 AM AST 11 December 2016 Strong to gale force northwesterlies persisting over most of the
district will gradually diminish late today or tonight as a ridge
Of high pressure approaches from the west later today. The ridge
Will lie over Newfoundland by Monday evening.
Cold temperatures in the strong northwesterly flow over the Gulf of
St. Lawrence will give freezing spray today and tonight.
On Monday a trough of low pressure will begin to track across Nova
Scotia. Winds will increase to strong to gale force southeasterlies
ahead of the trough and become strong to gale force west to
southwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Lurcher, Browns Bank, southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, Georges Bank,
West Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope,
Banquereau, Laurentian Fan and Cabot Strait.
