Issued 3:30 PM AST 18 November 2017 Tonight and Sunday At 3:30 p.m. AST today low 994 mb located over southern
Newfoundland.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing low 991 mb located east of
Newfoundland.

At 3:30 p.m. AST today deepening low 987 mb located south of the
Great Lakes.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Sunday low 974 mb located over the Gaspe Peninsula.

At 3:30 p.m. AST today ridge located on a line north-south over
the western Marine District.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Sunday ridge located on a line north-south over
Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:30 PM AST 18 November 2017 A low pressure system near Southern Newfoundland will continue to
track eastward this afternoon and evening. Strong to gale force
northwesterly winds over eastern waters will gradually diminish
throughout this evening.

Another low pressure system developing south of the Great Lakes will
approach the region tonight to lie over the Gaspé Peninsula by Sunday
evening. Strengthening southerly winds ahead of this second low are
expected to reach gale force over most waters on Sunday. On Sunday
afternoon southerly gales over extreme southwest waters could
possibly reach storm force.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.

Marine interests are also advised that higher than normal water
levels can be expected near high tide Sunday afternoon for the Bay of
Chaleur, the gulf coast from Miramichi north, and eastern facing
coastlines of the Gaspé Peninsula. Storm surge and waves are expected
to impact those areas Sunday afternoon possibly causing minor
flooding.
