Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:20 PM NST 26 November 2015 An intensifying low pressure system over Northern Quebec will track
northeastward across the Northern Labrador Sea tonight. On Friday,
an elongated trough of low pressure extending from Eastern Quebec to
the Southern United States will slowly approach Gulf waters.
Meanwhile, a very strong area of high pressure will remain over the
Southern Grand Banks tonight into Friday. Strong to gale force
southwesterly winds will develop today between these features and
will persist through Friday. Storm force southwesterlies can be
expected tonight over the Strait of Belle Isle.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
the Strait of Belle Isle. Gale warnings are in effect for Northeast
Gulf, Gulf - Port au Port, East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis,
Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
