Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:47 PM NDT 25 September 2017 A low pressure system will cross northern Gulf waters overnight and
track eastward to lie over Funk Island Bank Tuesday afternoon. Strong
south to southwesterlies ahead of this low will switch to strong to
gale force northeast to northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that a gale warning is in effect for
Funk Island Bank - southern half.
At 8:00 PM NDT hurricane Lee was located near 30.6 north, 50.6 west.
Maximum sustained winds were 75 knots and the central pressure was
Lee is drifting westward and is not expected to affect the marine
district of Atlantic Canada.
At 8:00 PM NDT hurricane Maria was located near 31.7 north, 73.1
west. Maximum sustained winds were 70 knots and the central pressure
was 966 millibars.
Maria is slowly moving northward and may affect southernmost waters
late this week into this weekend.
