Wind diminishing to southwest 20 early this afternoon and to variable 10 to 15 this evening. Wind increasing to southwest 30 Thursday afternoon then diminishing to west 20 Thursday evening.

Rain and fog patches ending early this morning with a risk of thunderstorms. Showers and fog patches beginning this afternoon.

Issued 10:00 AM NST 10 February 2016 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:00 a.m. NST today trough located from the Gulf of St. Lawrence
to Funk Island Bank.
By 3:30 a.m. NST Thursday departing trough located east of Belle
Isle Bank.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today low 976 mb located over the East Coast
of Newfoundland.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing low 973 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:51 AM NST 10 February 2016 A trough of low pressure lying across the Gulf of St. Lawrence and
Funk Island Bank will track northeastwards away from the marine
district tonight. Strong to gale force northeasterlies are to the
northwest of this feature.

Meanwhile, a low pressure system over the East Coast of Newfoundland
will cross the Funk Island Bank this afternoon and continue out to
sea tonight. Gale to storm force south to southwesterlies are
forecast to develop to the southeast of the low with gale force
westerlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and the Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters except Northeast Gulf and Gulf - Port au Port.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, Northeast Coast -
north of Cape St. John and the Belle Isle Bank.
