Issued 3:00 AM NDT 21 September 2017 Today Tonight and Friday At 3:00 a.m. NDT today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the Grand Banks.
By 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight departing low 978 mb located east of the
Grand Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT today Tropical Storm Jose 980 mb located at
39.6N 68.1W.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Friday Tropical Storm Jose 986 mb located at
39.4N 68.0W.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:56 AM NDT 21 September 2017 A trough of low pressure over the Grand Banks will intensify as it
tracks eastwards away from the district today. Strong southwesterlies
are expected over eastern waters ahead of the trough. Strong to gale
force northwesterlies are expected over all waters in the wake of
this system.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and the Northern Grand Banks.

As of 3:00 AM NDT tropical storm Jose is estimated to be at 39.6
north 68.1 west with a central pressure of 980 MB, maximum wind speed
of 50 knots, and is moving to the east-northeast at 5 knots. Jose is
forecast to slowly weaken as it remains nearly stationary off the
Eastern Seaboard through Sunday. Jose is not expected to have any
impact on Newfoundland waters during this timeframe.
