Wind northeast 35 to 40 knots increasing to easterly 40 to 50 near noon with gusts to 70 from Margaree Harbour to Bay St. Lawrence. Wind diminishing to northeast 25 to 35 near midnight and to northeast 15 to 20 late overnight. Wind becoming variable 15 early Wednesday morning then increasing to northwest 25 to 30 Wednesday evening.

Snow changing to freezing rain and ice pellets this evening then to a few showers late overnight. A few flurries Wednesday evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in precipitation.

Temperatures minus 9 rising to plus 1 after midnight then falling to minus 4 Wednesday evening.

Issued 10:00 AM AST 27 January 2015 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 10:00 a.m. AST today low 978 mb located southeast of Cape Cod.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Wednesday low 988 mb located over Nova Scotia.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Wednesday low 998 mb located over Cape Breton
Island.
By 10:30 a.m. AST Wednesday low 998 mb located over Cabot Strait.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:05 AM AST 27 January 2015 An intensifying area of low pressure southeast of Cape Cod will
gradually approach the district today. The low will then weaken as it
crosses Nova Scotia tonight to lie near Cabot Strait Wednesday
evening. Storm force east or northeasterlies will develop over most
waters as the low approaches. Winds will shift to generally strong to
gale force westerlies in its wake. Winds will diminish from west to
east during the day Wednesday.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
All waters except Georges Bank..West Scotian Slope and Anticosti
where a gale warning is in effect.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy..Grand
Manan..Eastern shore..Fourchu..Cabot Strait..Northumberland
Strait..Gulf-Magdalen and Anticosti.

Higher than normal water levels and possible ice pile up can be
expected at high tide this afternoon and early this evening along the
western part of the Northumberland Strait.
