Issued 8:00 PM AST 20 January 2017 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight intensifying low 975 mb located over the
southern Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Saturday low 969 mb located east of the Grand
Banks.

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight quasi-stationary ridge located over the
western Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:47 PM AST 20 January 2017 An intensifying low pressure system over the Southern Grand Banks
will continue to track northeast tonight and Saturday morning. Strong
northeasterlies over eastern waters will increase to gale force
northerlies this evening with a possibility of reaching storm force
overnight. Winds will diminish Saturday afternoon as the low moves
away from Newfoundland.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau-eastern half and Laurentian Fan.
