Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:37 AM ADT 22 September 2017 Strong to gale force easterlies over the southwestern waters will
continue to diminish this morning as post tropical storm Jose slowly
weakens and drifts away from the district. Marine interests are
advised that a gale warning is in effect for Browns Bank.
As of 9:00 AM ADT post tropical storm Jose was located near 39.7
north and 68.8 west, or about 110 nautical miles south-southeast of
Nantucket. Minimum central pressure is 990 MB and maximum sustained
winds are 45 knots. Jose is currently drifting westward at 2 knots.
Long period swells from Jose will continue to affect the southwestern
Atlantic coastline of Nova Scotia and will slowly diminish throughout
