Marine Weather StatementIssued 11:52 AM NST 10 February 2016 A trough of low pressure lying across the Gulf of St. Lawrence and
Funk Island Bank will track northeastwards away from the marine
district tonight. Strong to gale force northeasterlies are to the
northwest of this feature.
Meanwhile, a low pressure system over the East Coast of Newfoundland
will cross the Funk Island Bank this afternoon and continue out to
sea tonight. Gale to storm force south to southwesterlies are
forecast to develop to the southeast of the low with gale force
westerlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and the Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters except Northeast Gulf, Gulf - Port au Port, and
Northeast Coast - north of Cape St. John.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, Northeast Coast -
north of Cape St. John and the Belle Isle Bank.
