over the East Coast of Newfoundland.
At 10:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Thursday ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Grand Banks.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:53 AM NDT 7 October 2015 At 6:30 AM NDT...Hurricane Joaquin was located near latitude 40.5
north and longitude 49.4 west. Maximum sustained winds were estimated
at 65 knots with a central pressure of 977 MB. Joaquin is moving
east-northeastward at 28 knots.
Joaquin is now southeast of the Grand Banks and rapidly tracking away
from the region. Any lingering gale force northeasterly winds over
the Southeastern Grand Banks will diminish by this afternoon.
Marine interests are advised that a gale warning is in effect for the
Southeastern Grand Banks - southern half.
