Issued 10:00 AM AST 7 February 2016 Today Tonight and Monday At 10:00 a.m. AST today cold front located near the Gaspe Peninsula.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing cold front located over
Banquereau.

At midnight AST tonight low 981 mb located off Cape Hatteras.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight deepening low 973 mb located near
Georges Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:52 AM AST 7 February 2016 A cold front will pass through the Gulf of St Lawrence this afternoon
to lie over Banquereau this evening. Strong to gale force
southwesterlies ahead of the front veer to strong to gale force
northwesterlies behind it.

A low pressure system forming northeast of Florida will rapidly
intensify today and tonight as it moves northeastward to lie over
george's bank Monday evening. Gale to storm force northeasterlies are
expected as the low approaches.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Lurcher..Browns Bank..George's bank..Southwestern shore..Lahave
Bank..West Scotian Slope..Eastern shore..Sable..East Scotian Slope..
Banquereau and Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters. Freezing spray warnings remain in effect for
Fourchu..Cabot Strait and all Gulf of St Lawrence waters.
A combination of pounding surf at Monday's high tide will result in
higher than normal water levels along the south shore of Nova Scotia.
