Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:00 AM NST 8 February 2016 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 10:00 a.m. NST today departing low 1006 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight approaching low 974 mb located south of
Nova Scotia.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight approaching trough from low located south
of the Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:59 AM NST 8 February 2016 A low pressure system east of Funk Island Bank will move out to sea
today. Strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake over
northeastern waters will ease below gales later today.

A second, and much more intense, low pressure system will move up the
Eastern Seaboard to lie south of Nova Scotia by this evening.
Extending eastward from this low will be a sharp trough. Gale to
storm force east to northeasterlies will develop over most waters
late today and tonight ahead of this low and trough. Late tonight
into Tuesday, winds will veer to gale force southwesterlies south of
the system as it tracks northeastward.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Southwest Coast and South Coast. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters except the Strait of Belle Isle.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
