Issued 10:00 AM NST 23 February 2017 Today Tonight and Friday At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Friday ridge located on a line north-south over
the Grand Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today low 989 mb located over the northern
Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST today departing low 983 mb located northeast of
the Grand Banks.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 995 mb located over the Gaspe
Peninsula.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Friday departing low 996 mb located east of Funk
Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:53 AM NST 23 February 2017 A low pressure system over the Northeastern Grand Banks will move
away to the east later today. Over southeastern waters, gale force
northwesterlies behind the low will diminish as it moves away today.

A second low pressure system will approach from the west today and
tonight. The low will track eastward across Northern Newfoundland
Friday morning, then move east of the district later in the day.
Strong to gale force southwesterlies can be expected south of the
low.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast, and the Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Gulf, Northeast Coast, and
Belle Isle Bank.
