Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM ADT 22 October 2016 Tonight and Sunday At 3:30 p.m. ADT today deepening low 995 mb located over the Gulf
of Maine.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Sunday low 976 mb located north of the
St. Lawrence River.

At 3:30 p.m. ADT today trough from low located on a line
northwest-southeast over the western Marine District.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Sunday trough from low located on a line east-west
over Anticosti Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 5:08 PM ADT 22 October 2016 Recent observations indicate gale to storm force winds are occurring
over portions of the marine district associated with a tropical wave
south of Nova Scotia. As a result storm warnings have been issued for
some marine areas.

Also a low pressure system over the Gulf of Maine will move northward
today to lie north of the St. Lawrence River Sunday morning. A trough
extending southeastward from the low will cross the marine district
tonight to lie over Anticosti Island by Sunday morning. Gale to storm
force southeasterlies ahead of the trough will shift to strong to
gale force southwesterlies behind it.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Scotian Slope..Eastern shore..Sable and Fourchu..Banquereau and
Cabot Strait. Gale warnings are in effect for all waters except Cabot
Strait..Northumberland Strait..Gulf-Magdalen and Chaleur-Miscou.
