Synopsis

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM AST 19 November 2017 Tonight and Monday At 3:30 p.m. AST today deepening low 979 mb located over Maine.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Monday low 975 mb located over western Labrador.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:27 PM AST 19 November 2017 A developing low pressure system over Northern Maine will move into
Western Labrador Monday morning. Southerly gales ahead of this system
will shift to generally strong southwesterlies later tonight as the
low passes north of the region but will become gale force over the
Northern Gulf of St Lawrence as well as southwestern waters on
Monday.

There is a great deal of uncertainty regarding the track and
intensity of a low pressure system forecast to move across the
Maritimes Wednesday night and through the day Thursday. Current
indications are that this system will track northeastward across
southern waters keeping the strongest winds south of the marine
district. However, there is a slight chance that this track may shift
further northward bringing gale to possible storm force winds to much
of the district.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.
