Wind becoming southeast 35 early Sunday morning with gusts to 70 from Margaree Harbour to Bay St. Lawrence. Wind diminishing to south 25 near noon Sunday then increasing to westerly 35 Sunday afternoon.

Showers or freezing drizzle changing to rain late overnight and ending Sunday afternoon. Risk of thunderstorms Sunday morning. Fog patches forming early this evening and dissipating Sunday afternoon.

Issued 3:30 PM AST 25 February 2017 Tonight and Sunday At 3:30 p.m. AST today departing ridge located over Newfoundland.

At 3:30 p.m. AST today trough located over the East Coast of
the U.S.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Sunday trough located from Anticosti Island to
East Scotian Slope.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:09 PM AST 25 February 2017 A trough of low pressure will approach the district from the west
tonight and move to lie over the region Sunday morning. Strong
southeasterlies will develop ahead of the trough tonight. These winds
will reach gale force over much of the region on Sunday. In the wake
of the trough strong to gale force westerlies will develop.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau,
Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen and Anticosti.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf-Magdalen and Anticosti.
