Newfoundland.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT today intensifying tropical depression 8 located
at 34.1N 74.8W.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight intensifying tropical depression 8 located
at 34.9N 74.7W.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT today Hurricane Gaston 971 mb located at 33.2N
53.3W.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight Hurricane Gaston 975 mb located at
32.8N 51.7W.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:48 AM ADT 30 August 2016 A low pressure system east of Newfoundland will continue to move off
to the east today. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will diminish
today behind the low.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau and Cabot Strait.

At 10 AM ADT, hurricane Gaston is located near 33.2 degrees north
And 53.3 degrees west. Maximum sustained winds are 85 knots. Minimum
central pressure is about 971 MB. Gaston is moving northeast at 5
knots.

Note that Gaston is forecast to pass well south of Canadian waters.

As of 10:00 AM ADT tropical depression 8 is located near 34.1 degrees
north and 74.8 degrees west. Maximum sustained winds are 30 knots.
Minimum central pressure is about 1011 MB. It is currently moving
northwest at 5 knots.

The depression could become a tropical storm tonight. There is
uncertainty about the development of the storm, however current
guidance has the storm tracking over the southern slope waters late
Thursday and into Friday.
