southeastern Marine District.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT today low 1007 mb located near the Gaspe
Peninsula.
By 3:00 a.m. ADT Tuesday deepening low 996 mb located over
Newfoundland.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT today intensifying tropical depression 8 1010
mb located at 32.8N 73.4W.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Tuesday tropical depression 8 1010 mb located
at 34.5N 75.3W.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT today Hurricane Gaston 960 mb located at 30.9N
55.2W.
By 9:00 p.m. ADT Tuesday Hurricane Gaston 965 mb located at
32.1N 53.3W.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:52 AM ADT 29 August 2016 An intensifying low pressure system approaching from Quebec will
cross the Gulf of St. Lawrence today. This will give strong to gale
force south to southwest winds ahead of the low, shifting to strong
to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau, Cabot Strait, Gulf Magdalen, and Anticosti.

As of 9:00 AM ADT, hurricane Gaston is located near 30.9 degrees
north and 55.2 degrees west. Maximum sustained winds are 100 knots.
Minimum central pressure is about 960 MB.

Note that Gaston is forecast to pass well south of Canadian forecast
waters.

As of 3:00 AM ADT tropical depression 8 is located near 32.8 degrees
north and 73.4 degrees west. Maximum sustained winds are 30 knots.
Minimum central pressure is about 1010 MB. It is currently moving
northwest at 9 knots.

The depression is expected to become tropical storm Hermine late
today or tonight. There is great uncertainty about the development of
the storm, and whether it will have any efect on Canadian waters.
There are some indications it may dissipate before reaching our
waters.
