Issued 4:00 AM PST 9 December 2016 Today Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 a.m. PST today quasi-stationary ridge located over BC
interior.

At 4:00 a.m. PST today weakening frontal system located over Queen
Charlotte Sound.

At 4:00 a.m. PST today low 990 mb located west of the offshore
waters.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today low 993 mb located over northern Explorer.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:39 AM PST 9 December 2016 An Arctic ridge of high pressure will remain over the British
Columbia Interior today through Saturday. Gale to storm force outflow
winds are expected through mainland inlets this morning. Outflow
winds will ease to gale force by this afternoon. Cold temperatures
from the Arctic outflow winds will give a risk of moderate freezing
spray near most mainland inlets.

A strong frontal system over Queen Charlotte Sound is giving gale to
storm force easterlies and southeasterlies to south and central
waters. The low associated with this frontal system will move into
Northern Explorer by this afternoon. Gale force southwesterlies can
be expected near the low.
