Issued 4:00 AM PST 17 December 2014 Today Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 a.m. PST today weakening frontal system located on a line
north-south over central Vancouver Island.

At 4:00 a.m. PST today trough located over Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today trough located on a line north-south over
Hecate Strait.

At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight frontal system located off the offshore
By 4:00 p.m. PST Thursday frontal system located on a line
northwest-southeast over Queen Charlotte Sound.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:59 PM PST 17 December 2014 A relatively weak trough of low pressure over Haida Gwaii this
afternoon will stall over Hecate Strait this evening. Then an intense
Pacific frontal system will move into the offshore waters tonight and
through the North Coast during the day Thursday.

Strong to gale force southeast winds will prevail ahead of the
incoming trough over most northern and central waters this evening.
Then widespread storm force southeasterlies will develop by Thursday
morning everywhere from Northern Vancouver Island northwards as the
Pacific front approaches. Very high seas will build, reaching up
To 8 metres off the central portions of the coast. Winds will rise to
strong to gale force southeast over the far south on Thursday. In
addition, outflow winds will rise to gale force through the Northern
Mainland inlets tonight and Thursday morning.
