Wind southeast 15 to 25 knots increasing to southeast 40 to 50 near midnight and to southeast 55 to 65 late overnight. Wind diminishing to southerly 40 to 50 Friday morning and to southwest 30 to 40 Friday afternoon.

Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 PM PDT 8 October 2015 Tonight and Friday At 10:00 p.m. PDT tonight deepening low 976 mb located 120 miles
west of Explorer.
By 8:00 a.m. PDT Friday low 966 mb located over northwestern Bowie.

At 2:00 a.m. PDT Friday intensifying cold front located off
By 11:00 a.m. PDT Friday cold front located from the North Coast
to Vancouver Island.

At 11:00 p.m. PDT Friday approaching low 986 mb located over
northwestern Explorer.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:28 PM PDT 8 October 2015 Stormy conditions will prevail over the next few days as a series of
lows and frontal systems affect the BC coast. The most intense storm
is forecast for tonight and Friday. An area of low pressure
incorporating the remnants of hurricane oho will deepen to below 970
millibars Friday morning as it moves northward off Haida Gwaii.

With the approaching low, strong to gale force southeasterlies will
strengthen tonight and Friday morning to storm to hurricane force
over most areas from Northern Vancouver Island northwards. This will
lead to very high seas reaching up to 10 metres for parts of the
North Coast. Winds will ease Friday afternoon as the low departs but
will remain gale to storm force southerly over most central waters as
the next low approaches Queen Charlotte Sound Friday night.
