Issued 4:00 AM PST 17 December 2014 Today Tonight and Thursday At 4:00 a.m. PST today weakening frontal system located on a line
north-south over central Vancouver Island.

At 4:00 a.m. PST today trough located over Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PST today trough located on a line north-south over
Hecate Strait.

At 9:30 p.m. PST tonight frontal system located off the offshore
waters.
By 4:00 p.m. PST Thursday frontal system located on a line
northwest-southeast over Queen Charlotte Sound.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:14 PM PST 17 December 2014 A trough of low pressure will remain nearly stationary over Hecate
Strait tonight. Strong to gale force southeast winds will continue
tonight over most northern and central waters. Outflow winds will
rise to gale force through the Northern Mainland inlets tonight and
Thursday morning.

An intense Pacific frontal system will track across the offshore
waters tonight and through the North Coast during the day Thursday.
Widespread storm force southeasterlies will develop by Thursday
morning everywhere from Northern Vancouver Island northwards as the
front approaches. Very high seas will build, reaching up to 8 metres
off the central portions of the coast. Strong to gale force southeast
winds will develop over the inner South Coast waters on Thursday.
