Issued 10:30 AM PDT 27 July 2016 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:30 a.m. PDT today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Queen Charlotte Sound.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Thursday quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over Haida Gwaii.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:24 AM PDT 27 July 2016 A nearly stationary ridge of high pressure extending from well
offshore toward the Central Coast will slowly shift northward to lie
over Haida Gwaii by Thursday afternoon. Under this pattern, strong to
gale force northwesterly winds will prevail over most southern
waters.

Strong northwesterlies off West Vancouver Island and through
Johnstone Strait are forecast to rise to gale force late this
afternoon. The winds will ease slightly overnight then strengthen
again Thursday afternoon. Westerly winds through Juan de Fuca Strait
will flirt with gales in the evenings.
