Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM PDT 31 August 2015 Tonight and Tuesday At 4:00 p.m. PDT today cold front located over central Vancouver
Island.
By 5:00 a.m. PDT Tuesday departing cold front located on a line
northeast-southwest over northwestern Washington State.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today low 992 mb located over the northern Alaska
panhandle.
By 6:00 p.m. PDT Tuesday weakening low 998 mb located over eastern
Queen Charlotte Sound.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:57 PM PDT 31 August 2015 A cold front across Central Vancouver Island will move southeastward
into Washington state tonight. In its wake, a broad area of low
pressure will be affecting the BC coast, with a low centre off the
Northern Alaska Panhandle sliding southeastward to reach the Central
Coast by Tuesday afternoon.

Strong southerlies south of the front will ease to light to moderate
in its wake. Meanwhile strong to gale force west or northwest winds
will continue over the offshore waters as the low centre moves down
the coast. The approaching low will bring strong southerlies again
To most of the South Coast on Tuesday.
