Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 PM NST 19 February 2017 Tonight and Monday At 4:00 p.m. NST today weakening low 980 mb located over the South
Labrador Sea.
By 9:30 p.m. NST tonight weakening low 986 mb located east of the
Marine District.

At 4:00 p.m. NST today ridge located over northern Quebec.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Monday quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
east-west over Labrador.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:55 PM NST 19 February 2017 An intense low pressure system over the South Labrador Sea will move
to lie east of the marine district by this evening. Strong to gale
force winds over most waters will diminish by Monday morning as the
low moves off. Strong to gale force northwesterlies are forecast to
redevelop over northwestern waters on Monday as a ridge builds in
from the west over Labrador.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Mid Labrador Coast, North Labrador Coast, South Labrador Sea, and
Northwest Labrador Sea - northwestern half.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
