Wind west 25 knots increasing to southeast 40 this morning and to east 50 early this afternoon. Wind increasing to southwest 50 to 60 this evening then diminishing to northwest 35 Monday afternoon.

Snow beginning this morning changing to showers or flurries this evening then to snow Monday morning. Fog patches this evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow and in fog patches.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water moderate freezing spray ending near noon. Severe freezing spray beginning overnight.

Temperatures minus 8 to minus 4 rising to minus 2 to plus 2 this afternoon then falling to minus 10 to minus 6 overnight.

Issued 4:00 AM NST 25 January 2015 Today Tonight and Monday At 4:00 a.m. NST today intensifying low 965 mb located over the
Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Monday low 944 mb located over the South Labrador
Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:41 AM NST 25 January 2015 An intensifying low pressure system over the Gulf of St. Lawrence at
issue time will deepen and track across Southeastern Labrador as a
major storm today. It will continue to track to northeast and exit
the East Labrador Sea by Monday evening. Gale to storm force
easterlies will develop north of its track and shift to gale to
hurricane force northwesterlies in its wake. Storm force
southwesterlies will develop to the south of its track.

Marine interests are advised that a hurricane wind warning is in
effect for the East Labrador Sea, storm warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters except Lake Melville where a gale warning is in
effect.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all open waters.
