Issued 9:30 AM NST 9 December 2016 Today Tonight and Saturday At 9:30 a.m. NST today trough located over the Northwest Labrador
Sea.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Saturday dissipating trough located over the Mid
Labrador Coast.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today intensifying low 978 mb located east of
St. John's.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Saturday low 954 mb located northeast of Belle
Isle Bank.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located over the South Labrador Sea.
By 4:00 p.m. NST today departing ridge located southeast of
Labrador Sea.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:20 AM NST 9 December 2016 A trough of low pressure over the Northwest Labrador Sea will slowly
drift southwestward to lie northeast of Nain by this afternoon.
Gale force northerlies will develop northwest of this feature by this
afternoon.

An intense low pressure system currently east of St. John's will
approach the marine district tonight. Strong to gale force easterly
to northwesterly winds will spread across southern and eastern waters
overnight as the low approaches.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Lake Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except South Labrador Sea, Northwest Labrador
Sea - southeastern half and East Labrador Sea.
