Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NST 10 December 2016 Today Tonight and Sunday At 4:00 a.m. NST today dissipating trough located over the Mid
Labrador Coast.

At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 955 mb located east of Belle Isle Bank.
By 9:30 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 953 mb located northeast
of Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:46 AM NST 10 December 2016 An intense low pressure system east of Belle Isle Bank will drift
slowly northeastward early this morning before stalling just
southeast of the district. Strong to gale force easterly to
northwesterly winds will increase to gale to storm force
northwesterlies over all waters except Lake Melville today.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Labrador coast, South Labrador Sea, and Northwest Labrador Sea -
southeastern half. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except Lake Melville.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except East Labrador Sea.
