Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 9:30 AM NST 25 February 2017 Today Tonight and Sunday At 9:30 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary trough located south
of Greenland.

At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Labrador Coast.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the East Labrador Sea.

By 4:00 a.m. NST Sunday approaching low 982 mb located over
northern Quebec.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:26 AM NST 25 February 2017 A trough of low pressure south of Greenland will remain nearly
stationary today and begin to weaken on Sunday. Meanwhile, a ridge of
high pressure along the Labrador coast will move out over western
portions of the Labrador Sea later today. Gale to storm force
northwesterlies over the Labrador Sea will diminish by Sunday morning
as the ridge moves eastward.

A very intense low pressure system will move over Western Labrador on
Sunday and over the Labrador Sea Sunday night. Gale force
southeasterly winds will spread across all waters on Sunday ahead of
this system.

Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
the East Labrador Sea. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
