Issued 9:30 PM PDT 24 September 2016 Tonight and Sunday At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
north-south over Vancouver Island.

At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight low 1009 mb located southwest of Haida
Gwaii.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Sunday departing low 1012 mb located over the
southern Alaska panhandle.

At 2:00 p.m. PDT Sunday approaching low 1004 mb located over Bowie.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:25 PM PDT 24 September 2016 A ridge of high pressure will remain quasi-stationary over Vancouver
Island. Meanwhile, a low pressure system will move through the North
Coast tonight. Another low will reach Bowie Sunday afternoon and
should follow a similar trajectory through the North Coast Sunday
night.

Ahead of the first low, gale to storm force southeasterlies are
occurring over most central and northern waters. Winds will shift to
strong to gale force southwest tonight as the low centre reaches the
Southern Alaska Panhandle. After a brief lull Sunday morning, gale
force south and southeast winds will redevelop again Sunday afternoon
over most central and northern waters as the next low approaches.
Winds will remain light to moderate over the far south thanks to the
ridge overhead.
