Issued 4:00 AM PDT 28 July 2017 Today Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 a.m. PDT today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Queen Charlotte Sound.
By 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight quasi-stationary ridge located over
Vancouver Island.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today low located off Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Saturday departing low located over northern Bowie.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today cold front located over the offshore waters.
By 4:00 a.m. PDT Saturday cold front located over Hecate Strait.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:50 AM PDT 28 July 2017 A ridge over Queen Charlotte Sound will shift southward over
Vancouver Island this afternoon as a low pressure system approaches
Bowie. The associated cold front will move onto the North Coast
Early Saturday and then stall and weaken across Northern Vancouver
Island in the afternoon. Meanwhile, the low pressure centre will
drift northward across Bowie.

West winds will approach gale force through Juan de Fuca Strait
Early this evening and again Saturday evening.

Farther north, southeast gales will spread from the offshore waters
onto northern and central waters tonight. In the wake of the
Front, strong to gale force southerlies will persist until the low
finally moves towards the panhandle Saturday night.
