Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:29 PM PDT 9 October 2015 Stormy conditions will prevail over the next few days as a series of
lows and frontal systems affect the BC coast.

The next low pressure centre in the series will cross the central
offshore waters overnight and will deepen to about 984 millibars as
it moves northeastward through Hecate Strait Saturday afternoon. The
low will bring gale force southerlies followed by gale force
northwesterlies over the central part of the coast. A trough of low
pressure moving through the South Coast Saturday afternoon will bring
strong to gale force south or southeast winds followed by strong to
gale force westerlies. Winds will then ease over all areas on
Saturday night as a ridge of high pressure reaches the coast.

Another intense storm will move in on Sunday, bringing widespread
storm force winds over central and northern waters.
