Issued 9:30 PM PDT 16 August 2017 Tonight and Thursday At 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over northwestern Vancouver Island.

At 2:00 p.m. PDT Thursday frontal system located on a line
northeast-southwest over northern Haida Gwaii.
By 11:00 p.m. PDT Thursday dissipating frontal system located on
a line northeast-southwest over Queen Charlotte Sound.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:26 PM PDT 16 August 2017 A ridge of high pressure will remain over Northern Vancouver Island.
On Thursday, a frontal system will reach Bowie in the morning and
will move through the North Coast during the day, reaching the
Central Coast in the evening.

Light to moderate variable winds will prevail for most of the South
Coast tonight and Thursday. Strong to gale force westerlies through
Juan de Fuca Strait will continue tonight.

Over the North Coast, gale force southeast winds will develop ahead
of the next frontal system on Thursday and will shift to strong
West or southwesterly in its wake.
