Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:30 AM PST 23 January 2017 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 11:00 a.m. PST today weakening ridge located over northern
BC interior.

At 4:00 p.m. PST today ridge located over Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PST Tuesday ridge located on a line north-south over
Vancouver Island.

At 11:00 p.m. PST Tuesday approaching frontal system located over
western Bowie.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:00 AM PST 23 January 2017 A ridge of high pressure will reach the northern offshore waters
This afternoon and will settle over Vancouver Island on Tuesday,
bringing mostly light to moderate winds over the coast except for
local strong northwesterlies off the west coast of Vancouver
Island tonight.

A frontal system will be approaching the northern offshore waters
tonight and Tuesday, leading to strong to gale force southeasterlies
developing over the far north.
