Marine Weather Statement

Issued 10:27 AM PDT 26 April 2017 A 992 millibar low over Northern Haida Gwaii this morning will move
slowly northward to lie off the Alaska Panhandle this afternoon.

As the low crosses Dixon Entrance today, gale force south or
southeast winds will affect Hecate Strait and parts of Dixon
Entrance. A large area of gale force westerlies will follow the low
off the west coast of Haida Gwaii. Winds will ease below gale
Force this evening as the low continues to weaken and pull
Northward.

On Thursday, a ridge of high pressure will build over the offshore
waters and will cause winds to veer to moderate to strong northwest
over the South Coast while winds remain mostly light to moderate
elsewhere.
