Periods of rain with a risk of thunderstorms. Visibility 1 mile or less in rain.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today departing cold front located over the
Coast Mountains.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today low 976 mb located over southern Bowie.
By 8:00 p.m. PDT tonight departing low 980 mb located over the
southern Alaska panhandle.

At midnight PDT tonight low 986 mb located west of Explorer.
By 2:00 p.m. PDT Saturday low 987 mb located over Hecate Strait.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 4:14 PM PDT 9 October 2015 Stormy conditions will prevail over the next few days as a series of
lows and frontal systems affect the BC coast. An intense area of low
pressure incorporating the remnants of hurricane oho has reached a
depth of 960 millibars off the Alaskan Panhandle and will continue to
move northward toward Alaska tonight. A second low centre near Haida
Gwaii will also track toward the Alaskan Panhandle this evening.

Storm force winds over most areas from Northern Vancouver Island
northwards will weaken slightly this evening then rise again Saturday
with the next and third low in the series. Seas which are currently
over 7 metres in some areas will continue to build up to 9 metres for
parts of the North Coast.
